The laying on of hands connects episcopal ministry to a tradition of sacramental transmission. David Griffin and Leslie McQuade serve within the independent Wandering Bishops tradition.
Within this tradition, apostolic successions support the authority to administer sacraments, transmit the Mysteries, and undertake the work of restoration.
The episcopal authority supporting the restoration and the exousia transmitted through the Mysteries have distinct roles. Apostolic succession supports the bishops’ work of restoration and administration; initiation empowers disciples to enter the practice and carry it forward.

Lewis Keizer and George Boyer played important roles in gathering and bringing together apostolic succession lines in the twentieth century. These Mysteries are the spiritual inheritance of every Christian, regardless of church or denomination. Participation does not require leaving your existing church.
